Danny to take break after 10th album

MUSICIAN Danny ‘Kaya’ has hinted on taking a break after releasing 10 albums as he prepares to release his ninth studio collection by August this year.
Danny Siulapwa who is regarded as one of the best music artists in Zambia told Times Entertainment that he plans to take a break from releasing albums on one or two years intervals after reaching the decade mark.
“I have been doing this thing (singing) for more than ten years now and after releasing my tenth album, I will take a break and just be releasing singles,” the dreadlocked live performer said in the comfort of his studio chair at Mad House studios located at the Lusaka Play House.
The Yakumbuyo star added, “It’s not that I will stop completely, I will just relax and take a back seat and concentrate on grooming new artistes and dropping singles but if need arises the album will surely come.”
Last week on Friday residents of Makeni, Chawama and the surrounding areas were treated to some rare live music in town when Danny performed at South Point Pub.
The More Fire Band had one of the simplest task to do when they took to the stage as the audience was already mesmerised by the sight of Danny, Naso, Titus and the band.
All that Danny had to do was to churn out the already known tracks.
The show that defied the odds of Zambian shows starting after midnight, started around 22:00 hours and with such hits as Yakumbuyo, Joni, As Long As, 90 minutes and Kaya, the night was worth it and so was the wee hours of Saturday.
Zambia might be experiencing bad days when it comes to live bands performances but the nation can be assured that Danny is one of the remaining greats that will surely live his mark wherever he performs. Times of ZambiaDanny ‘Kaya

MY LIFE IS IN DANGER- FR. BWALYA

Outspoken Catholic Priest Father Frank Bwalya says his life is in danger because of speaking the truth.
Father Bwalya has told Qfm in an exclusive interview that his life has always been in danger, but his joining of the political arena and speaking the truth has even worsened the situation.
He says it is sad that he has to find means of securing his life because of people who don’t like to hear the truth.
Father Bwalya however states that Zambians are aware that he has not committed any offence; hence he will continue what he has started.
He adds he is merely exercising his democratic rights in everything he is doing, and has vowed to remain focused on realizing his dreams.
Father Bwalya has also reminded people who openly want to join him to be mindful that they are putting their lives in dangeFr. Frank Bwalyar.

PETERSEN AND PILATO SING ABOUT POLITICAL LIES IN ‘BUFI’

Petersen and Pilato sings about broken promises like cheap fuel, construction of roads and job opportunities for young people. Singing in Bemba, Petersen says all were lies as people are still sleeping in dirt. Boza, bufi, ulabeja, wenye are some of the recurring words in the song that traces the lies certain politicians uttered while campaigning for power. He said you were lying Tata. You promised cheap fuel; you said you will construct roads but you were lying as people are still sleeping in tunnels.
