UNZASU PRESIDENT EXPELLED

University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) President Ali Tunkara has been expelled from the country’s highest institution of learning.

Tunkara attempted to commit suicide after it was revealed he had diverted almost ZMK 50 million for personal use. The students union leader is alleged to have connived with two non- UNZASU Executive members who masqueraded as UNZASU office
bearers and applied for a ZMK 50 million from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to finance a Car wash and Take away project.

It is said the documentation used in acquiring the money had forged signatures of the institutions dean of students and the money was credited in a different account and not the union account as per procedure.
