POLICE in Eastern Province has arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the death of his 15-year-old wife.
Police spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela said the incident happened on 12th April, 2013 around 08:00hours at Malima Village, Chief Madzimawe in Chipata district.
Ms Kanjela said in a statement that the incident happened when the deceased took some medical substance in an attempt to abort her three months pregnancy.
Ms Kanjela said she died on her way to the hospital where her husband Dickson Banda was taking her. “Mr Banda is being held help with investigations. The body of the deceased is in Chipata General Hospital awaiting post-mortem,” she said.
And in Lusaka, a man in his 40′s has died on the spot after being hit by a speeding motor vehicle. The accident happened on Saturday April 13 2013 around 18:30 hours along Twikatane road near Diana Kaimba Basic School.
